Best temp Job Ever!

This New York Times article was referred to me from a good friend and participant in international night. I think his jealousy of my freelance lifestyle is manifesting itself in these subtle hints of "get a real job". Very interesting article which includes describing the temp crash course training in wine selling 101 or 201 in this case.

Niagara Wine Trail, US eh?

If there's one thing the people of Niagara Falls can learn from their neighbors to the north, aside from a better slapshot, is the benefit of having a thriving wine trail. The wineries of the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, Canada have nearly perfected the art of Icewine, and with that, have made the Niagara Falls, Ontario region a much more dynamic destination. It wasn't enough that Canada has a better view of the Falls, or that the drinking age is only nineteen, or that they have two national languages. They just seemed to have their sh*t together when they developed the area adjacent to the Falls.

Now the residents of the "American" Niagara Falls have their own wine trail to fuss over. Sure it may only be hosting five wineries, but its a start. Western New York has its own share of historical sites, natural wonders, and quaint towns, but now it has that one extra thing that taking a drive in the country needs be chic.

An article in the Buffalo Business First talks about the region gaining the Niagara Escarpment viticultural area designation. It's a general economic look at the benefits of wine tourism in the area.
